Speaking the language of the soul
Gender/Sexual Plurality
Gender/Sexual plurality events offer spaces for gender and sexual expression and liberation. In creatively decorated and immersive environments like clubs, theaters, warehouses, mansions, parks, pride parades, holistic retreat centers, and learning studios, hosting activities such as burlesque shows, grunge displays, rope bondage, spanking, body suspension, and numerous educational workshops around subjects such as connection and consent.
Costumes play a crucial role in representing, navigating, and exalting topics such as gender and sexual identity, body positivity, divergence, inclusion, roleplaying, crossdressing, desire, seduction, fetishes, fear and trust, submission and domination, pain and grunge, validation and respect, consent and boundaries. Through costume art, individuals can challenge norms, create new narratives, and connect with others in meaningful ways. This transformative experience can lead to greater self-awareness, acceptance, and personal growth, as well as a deeper connection with others who share similar journeys. The act of wearing a costume becomes more than just physical adornment; it’s a gateway to altering one’s mindset, behavior, and interactions with the world.
FUNDSTUME will develop and experiment with character creations in these environments. The organization plans to collaborate with event-hosting organizations and individual artists specializing in costumes for these environments. Through their Grant Giving Program, FUNDSTUME will provide funding to several out of 24+ organizations for running their events and to select independent groups for carrying out activities in this environment. In addition to financial support, FUNDSTUME will offer human resources for project execution and fiscal sponsorship services.
