Theaters

This area is where FUNDSTUME will research, document, and publish the use of costumes in theatre, spanning from traditional to contemporary forms, and exploring major categories such as community theater, resident/regional theater, and educational theater. Special attention will be given to alternative street theater.

In environments such as indoor and outdoor theater venues, parks, and streets, FUNDSTUME plans to develop full-body group costumes combined with movement and choreography to convey abstract concepts. FUNDSTUME is particularly interested in facilitating workshops on group costume making for street theater, focusing on social activism, and collaborating with theater organizations to achieve these goals.

Through the Grant Giving Program, FUNDSTUME will provide funding to several out of 15+ theater organizations for running their events and to select independent groups for executing similar events. In addition to financial support, FUNDSTUME will offer human resources for project execution and fiscal
sponsorship services.
