Speaking the language of the soul
FUNDSTUME Think Tank / Makers Space / Residencies
Think Tanks are organizations that bring together interdisciplinary scholars to research specific policies, issues, or ideas. A Maker Space is a collaborative workspace where people can create, learn, explore, and share using a variety of tools, technologies and techniques.
FUNDSTUME runs a Think Tank/Makerspace program to research, experiment with, and document the effects of creating and/or wearing costumes on a person’s character, psyche, and body energy. Subjects to address include mind transformation, identity definition, exploration and communication, and body energetic boosting. This program brings together scholars in fields such as culture, history, religion, anthropology, and technology with designers, tailors and performers, fostering a collaborative environment where costume and art vehicle concepts are designed, crafted, and tested.
As part of its Think Tank/Makerspace program, FUNDSTUME will provide physical maker spaces for artists residencies, allowing individual artists to create and exhibit their outcomes at an exhibition area. This space also serves as the place where board members and core organization staff can conduct meetings, present plans, and for general storage of constume inventory, and FUNDSTUME’s Art Truck and Camp FUNDSTUME materials.
Through its Grant Giving Program, FUNDSTUME provides funding to other over 19+ Think Tanks/Makerspaces related to costume art. In addition to financial support, FUNDSTUME offers human resources for project execution and fiscal sponsorship services.
